Thoroughly excellent food on our repeat visit. Pricey, yes, but absolutely worth it. I had the terrine to start and then roast turkey. Main course was absolutely fantastic, pretty much a perfect roast. Turkey was so tender, and they gave me a jug of extra gravy to drown myself in. Terrine was good, but lost a couple of points for me. First, I found buckshot in it (at least you know it's real wild game!) which was honestly fine, but slightly better QC would be advised. Aside from that, overall the dish felt a little heavy. There wasn't quite enough of the fig running through it to counterpoint the meat, and the pickled red cabbage wasn't quite doing it for me. Wife had the pumpkin soup, which was lovely and creamy. For mains, she had slow cooked beef shin on mash with kale. It was also very tasty, can't say too much as I was only allowed one bite ;) Waiting staff were fantastically on point as well, and they always offer to call a taxi at the end of the meal which is a nice touch.

This establishment is a hidden gem, we popped in for lunch around 1:45 on Saturday passed. It was like walking into a Parisian world of class. Anyways the food was outstanding and value for money, and I managed to thank the chef. What an experience.🍀

We really enjoyed dining here: very cozy and familiar atmosphere, the waiters were all kind and the food was amazing. We ordered the soup, tarte tatin and the cod and the crème brûlée, everything delicious! Also, they have a wonderful selection of wines. Truly recommended!

Just had a lovely family meal for four, the food was delicious, they catered very well for my sons partner who is vegan. we each enjoyed 3 courses all different, beautifully presented and timed perfectly. The ambiance was lovely very French, The staff were all lovely and attentive but discreet. It is expensive but quality food and professional preparation costs more. My house red was lovely, and our coffee perfect. We will be back!

Birthday Treat We arrived fresh off the bus and a few minutes walk to the restaurant. We were greeted and seated in the middle of the restaurant, I had nice to the far side of the table as it was a little right for me. We were offered water and in a timely manner a bottle of tap water was delivered. I ordered the wine and we perused the menu. The wine arrived and was poured. We were then approached and told what the specials were. I ordered the Chicken Terrine, the steak from the specials menu and a selection of cheese with homemade chutney and homemade oatcakes. I ordered a volcanically hot black coffee. The staff were all very friendly, the food was some of the best I have eaten and the venue very nice. Thank you!

Lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. We had the new year set menu (at ca £100 a head) and it was probably on the slightly disappointing side of acceptable: smoked trout wasn’t what half of my party wanted but was probably better than they expected. Parsnip soup, we agreed, was too sweet and a little bland. The beef was OK but lacked depth of flavour or contrast (half my party left half the meat). The dessert was nice but those of us having the tart agreed that the (gluten-free option) melting pot looked nicer. £150/head all-in was just about acceptable because it was new year but I’ve often eaten much better food in Edinburgh for a lot less. Maybe, if I’m charitable, it was the set menu that let it down.

Cute little French bistro in a hidden back street in Edinburgh. With so many restaurants closed or open with restricted hours when I visited, the experience here was perfect with no fuss polite, patient and friendly service from all the staff making for a relaxed dining atmosphere. Food was delicious with an extensive wine menu, and a fresh daily menu and specials. Only issue is it was on the slightly expensive side for this kind of dining but portion sizes were decent!
